Swing over snow-sure slopes in the Zillertal Arena

The Alpengasthof Filzstein is located directly at the ski area.

Fasten your skis and off you go. From the Alpengasthof Filzstein you get directly to the slopes and to the lifts on the Gerlosplatte and in the Zillertal Arena. The largest ski area in the Zillertal comprises 143 kilometres of pistes of all levels of difficulty, accessed by 52 cable cars and lifts. The snow-sure ski area reaches up to an altitude of 2.500 metres. There are several rustic ski huts where you can stop for a bite to eat and warm up. Top for adventurers: the snow and fun parks, the kids run and the action slopes. The Arena Coaster is a fast downhill toboggan run.

Family-friendly slopes and offers

Right next to the Alpengasthof Filzstein there are two plate lifts, perfect for children. In the children's ski schools of the Zillertal Arena, the little ones learn the art of skiing in a short time, with the best supervision from friendly ski instructors. The little ones play and do handicrafts in the guest kindergartens. Funny: The ArenaFunty, the big trunk animal, which you can meet mainly at photo points in the ski area. Practical for your budget: flexible ski passes and attractive ski pass discounts for children and young people.

Close to nature in Krimml / Hochkrimml on the Gerlos Platte

We were inspired by the materials felt & stone during the reconstruction, renovation and redesign of our alpine guesthouse. Everywhere in the hotel you will find the connection with the alpine and mountain world of Hochkrimml and Gerlosplatte - the windows close to the ground in the new suites, the winter garden and the sun terrace will bring you very close to nature.

Challenge and adventure for experts

The valley descent to Zell am Ziller is one of the longest in Austria. If you start from the highest point of the arena, the Übergangsjoch, at 2.500 metres, you will overcome almost 2.000 metres of altitude difference and 10 kilometres of pistes as far as the valley. Further tips:

  • With the Karspitzbahn in Zell, you can reach the legendary "Sportabfahrt", one of the most beautiful downhill runs in the Zillertal Arena, in just a few minutes.
  • Several photo points, speed checks and ski movie tracks invite you to be photographed and filmed in cool poses.
  • Freestylers and boarders can perfect their skills in four snow and fun parks.
  • Very romantic: From the Handlalm lift at Alpengasthof Filzstein you have a wonderful view of the Krimml Waterfalls and the Achental.
