Hochkrimml: Home of Alpengasthof Filzstein

At 1,640 m above sea level, we await you in our Alpine inn with stunning views of alpine peaks, deep views of Alpine valleys and the unique view of the world-famous Krimml Waterfalls. Krimml, to which Hochkrimml belongs, has about 850 inhabitants. Mittersill is 26 km and Zell am See 54 km away from Krimml.

Around Hochkrimml, you can expect a true "water world "! Hochkrimml and the Gerlosplatte are headwaters of numerous streams that track their paths towards the Salzach and the Krimml Ache. Mountain lakes and the Durlaßboden reservoir glisten in the sun. The Krimml Waterfalls top it all at 380 m in height!

The Gerlos Alpine Road is an absolute highlight, especially for motorcyclists!  

As well, the Gerlosplatte with the 1,531 m high Gerlos Pass is a family-friendly ski and hiking area and part of the Zillertal Arena. The best infrastructure, many mountain huts and restaurants pamper hikers and skiers alike.

Hohe Tauern National Park: National Park village of Krimml

Krimml is one of the member communities of the National Park Hohe Tauern, founded in 1981. The largest national park of Austria covers an area of more than 1,800 km² in the provinces of Salzburg, Tyrol and Carinthia. The highest mountain in Austria, the 3,798 m high Grossglockner, is located in the Hohe Tauern National Park!

The Krimml Waterfalls are without doubt one of the main attractions in the federal state of Salzburg. Back in 1967, the highest waterfalls in Europe were awarded the European Diploma of Protected Areas. Other highlights in the Hohe Tauern National Park

Ski in Ski out im Filzstein

The highest mountains, the greatest ski resorts, winter sports at their best: Start your winter fun right on the doorstep of our Alpengasthof Filzstein! The Hohe Tauern National Park offers you a total of eight ski areas with 260 cable cars and lifts, thanks to which you can conquer 870 (!) km of slopes. The Zillertal Arena is one of them!
